This is very different to say, Scandinavian or Australian culture, where it would seem too showy. We’re always looking for an excuse to have a party so we can feed you. Culturally, we are less likely to be casually promiscuous, so the chances of cheating are statistically lower.
Many Latinos report that companies turned them down because they do not have a Social Security number. If they are able to obtain a job, immigrants risk losing it if their employer finds out they are unable to provide proof of residency or citizenship. Many look towards agencies that do not ask for identification, but those jobs are often unreliable. In order to prevent themselves from being detained and deported, many have to work under exploitation. In a study, a participant reported “If someone knows that you don’t have the papers. . .that person is a danger. Many people will con them. . . if they know you don’t have the papers, with everything they say ‘hey I’m going to call immigration on you.'”.
However, in Latina culture women are less likely to be intimate outside of a relationship. But take it from the girl who went to UCLA and would always be told “yeah, but you don’t count as Mexican” , that people perceive Latinos to be professionally challenged. Cultural limitations include getting married too young, having children out of wedlock, and having parents that don’t want them to leave their hometown.

Immigrant families also do not trust government institutions and services. Because of their fear of encountering immigration officers, immigrants often feel ostracized and isolated which can lead to the development of mental health issues such as depression and anxiety. The harmful effects of being ostracized from the rest of society are not limited to just that of undocumented immigrants but it affects the entire family even if some of the members are of legal status.
This disparity, the researchers argue, is not due to a lack of intellectual capabilities, but rather a deficiency in opportunities. In 2011, the American Civil Liberties Unionmaintainedthat mass incarceration has an exceptional effect on Latinas and black women, who are typically the primary caregivers for their children and are also disproportionately victimized. For the most part, researchers have concentrated on Caucasian girls and women from middle- to upper-class backgrounds, with few doctors even equipped with the language and questions to ask Latina sufferers.
